TEA BREAK!
Tuesday, May 29, 2007

urgh, i hate the feeling when the afternoon lazy feeling kicks in, especially when its because you ate rice. I mean, its not fair to eat a staple and actually feel tired. Now as im typing, i feel drowsy.

I need tea~~!!.. OK, speaking about tea, heres a question for you.

Which has more caffeine? Tea or Coffee?

Answer: Tea AND coffee

Tea has more caffeine than coffee if you were to weigh it by net weight as in per gram measurement. However, only a little tea is used to produce your average cup of english breakfast. Instead, more coffee beans is needed in terms of net weight to give that shot of espresso. SO, in conclusion, Tea has more caffeine in theory and coffee has more caffeine in terms of pratical usage. Get it?

EWWW~!!! ok.. i misplaced salt as sugar.. now my tea tastes salty.. URGH!

HEY HEY PEEPS!!!

YES YES YES, this promo poster I did is part of Wyeth's smoking cessation programme. Pretty straight forward isn't it? Well, thats the point of it. I used the "trade-in" idea because that probably is well known among the uncles since they like to trade-in, be it handphones or wives. They happen to smoke too, so ingenious me thought of this "trade-in" slogan.. LOL.. picture is not completed so no need to put the copyright thing.

Oh and if you are wondering, this Wyeth nutrition company has this activity of having smoker employees throw thier cigarette in exchange for canteen vouchers. Pretty nice of them.

THE WORK LIFE
Wednesday, May 23, 2007

As much as i like my job as the intern now, its so taxing... Seriously, i need my me time, time whereby its just ME, ME, ME; no, bus trips aint included. i just wanna rest at home and probably do the little things that i enjoy like drawing, playing the piano and soak in the tub filled with green tea, followed by a good night sleep. Thats not much to ask for, isn't it? I'm just so drained out by my life. The current lifestyle is sucking the "life" out of me. SO TIRED MAN!!

Happiness
Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Once upon a time in a tropical fishing village, Mr. Lee, an obsessed businessman was having his summer holidays, strolling along the coast. There he met Mr. Ahmad. Mr. Ahmad is just a simple man who fished for a living. So, both of them sat down for kopi over at Mr. Ahmad’s house.

Mr. Lee: So, you fish for a living?

Mr. Ahmad: Yes, fishing since I was 20

Mr. Lee: So, what do you do other than fishing? I mean, how do you spend your day?

Mr. Ahmad: Oh, after fishing in the morning, I have lunch with my wife, spend some
time with My kids, then I go look for my friends and we just chill out
till dusk.

Mr. Lee: From my point of view, I think you should expand your business. I see great
potential in Your fishing business.

Mr. Ahmad: So what can I do?

Mr. Lee: You should stop selling your fish to your neighbors and local market and
start selling Them in the city market.

Mr. Ahmad: Then I will have to travel to the city and I wouldn’t have time to eat
with my wife, Spend time with my kids and chill out with my friends

Mr. Lee: Look far Ahmad, Look far. Think of the future. After you earn enough from
the city, you Can buy a fishing yacht to replace your fishing boat

Mr. Ahmad: Then?

Mr. Lee: Then, you can fish even more and sell even more!

Mr. Ahmad: Then?

Mr. Lee: Then of course, you can buy more equipment, and start your own fishing
business. After that you can start making fish products like fish sauce and
sell. You can engage R&D Etc.

Mr. Ahmad: Sounds very attractive. So, how long would all that take?

Mr. Lee: Hmm.. that would probably take about 20-30 years at least

Mr. Ahmad: So what do I do after I have finished all these?

Mr. Lee: OH~! You can enjoy life!! You can fish every morning as you wish, eat lunch
with your Wife, spend time with your kids, and chill out with your friends
till dusk. (sounds familiar?)

People, you may already have the life you’d always wanted. Mankind has been forever on the quest to search for happiness and comfort. Often, we already have happiness but we want more. We want to secure that happiness and to do it, we choose to “work harder now”. Well, that is true to a certain extent. Its not that I don’t agree but a lot of times people work so hard that they forget about family, friends, and most importantly to live. Will your wife still be cooking your lunch after you finally “have the time”? Will your friends still be there to chill out? Your kids would probably have their own families by then. So what can you do with your wealth? Hhmmm… pre-order a coffin with LV monogram leather and swarovski crystals?

Blogging time
Thursday, May 3, 2007

Thursday = near to friday = weekend is coming = blog

So, the whole of yesterday was spent packing sunflowers for stress management programme for the jap company sumitomo. My company basically does workplace health promotion and that includes mental health. Nothing much.. just 700 BLOODY sunflowers.

And so.. labour day was pretty much spent like the usual chill out days.. EATALK.

First picture is in the dining room, second is in the living room. Basically my aunt used the cordless and chatted from... heres the sequence

Living room---> Dining room---> Kitchen---> Living room---> Dining room

She chatted throughout when i was baking my boss's birthday cupcakes. I baked for 2 hours for your information... LOL.. She's like vocal blogging her daily events to her sister-in-law. I guess all "aunty" aunties are like that. i find it so amusing.

And of course i played with baby Jair... SOOOO FAT FAT!!!! i like~~~

So, today was a busy day.... on the way home, i saw something that really sets me thinking. Above is a pic of this family waiting at the bus stop together with me.

Mother: You look at [insert name]. He work hard so he get good results.
Son : *silence
Mother: Did you hear me? and stop asking her to carrying your bag. shes old already.
Son : I...... *silence
Father: You heard your mum (in chinese)
Mother: You must aim for higher marks. What so difficult about it?
Son : *silence
Father: Aiyoh! why you scratch your hand?! See!! red red already (in chinese)
Mother: Bus is here already lar, faster faster
Son : *starts tearing, kept wiping tears off

And you thought things were over.

In bus
Son : *looks down
Mother: Have you done your maths assessment~?!
Son : I~~....... (cuts in by mum)
Mother: So lazy. You do a few questions only right.

Seriously what is going on with typical Singapore parents? Can't you just listen to your son what he has to say? What happened to all those love you showed him when he was still learning to crawl? Where's all the hugs and kisses on the forehead. It seems like as the child grows up, he/she gets lesser affection. Why can't the mum ask something like, "how are things with your friends?", or "any feelings for and girls?". They don't seem to care about how your emotional growth part. He's your son. I know you want the best for him; and you think you know whats best for him. But is that true? Have you asked him why he hates math? He could be the next leonardo da vinci ya know. Grades aren't everything. These parents think that

good grades = good future = they are good parents (MY ASS)

PLEASE LAR PARENTS! sometimes you got to look at yourself. Don't expect a newton or clinton if you are just some passer-by material. GOSH.

So, that sets me singing

Father~ Father~ Father~ help us~
send some guidance from above~~
these people got me got me questioning~~~~
Where is the love~?
