Yesterday was Mao Qi's 21st bday party. Held at PSA bungalow chalet. Rather nice i would say considering the price she told me. ahaha. Anyway, i caught up with the secondary school friends, not exactly gang but somehow we are the only ones turning up for every meeting which makes us regulars at these sort of secondary school gatherings. I will always make it a point to go because i feel that i should keep in contact with them. Afterall, we were all awkward teens before and most importantly, we met when we didnt know so much about money, social status and all. All we cared was getting the nicest kicks and bags for school. To be cool. Hhahahaha. Its actually a kind of innocence that is nice to keep. Because no matter how we change, bert will still be the crazy one, gek the plump one, xin ying the studious one. Somethings just will stay as it is !!
After eating and all, we all went to dblo (i hate that place). Whatever, it was wei chang's and Xin Ying's first time. LOL. well, there were alot of drinks so, i hope my chui photos would be censored. Rum ribena... yum yum...Apart from that, i spotted a rip off at topshop! when gek bought something from topshop cuz i have the fast forward card. The original one is really nice, i think Zoe Tay wore to the awards.
Oh, and i REALLY REALLY want a blackberry!!! but even if i bought it, i couldnt use, cuz the SAF doesnt allow camera phones. I suppose that is something i have to bear for the time being. Im such a visual person and i like to take pictures of everything, anything and send to friends. SAF is like depriving me of such a basic necessity for me !!!URGH! guess i will have to 'suck thumb' and wait for next sept when i get out of the system.Don't get so worked up~ Its just me

I lay on the tanning chair, illegallyof course but i should go into that. As I flip through times (the 100 world's most influential people issue). This issue is unlike others, which just portray portfolios of the usual "great guy", "great things he has done", "great things we can learn from him". This time round, influential people give their word on why they think a certain someone is great and worthy of complimenting on.
e.g. fashion designer Stella Mccartney, by Gyweth Paltrow. and a political right black woman(Michelle Obama) on well, another one of the same kind (Oprah Winfrey)
Then, i try and recall who has had the greatest influence in life so far. I realised, its not exactly anyone famous or anything, its the usual people you see in your life daily. However, these people are indeed successful in their areas of work. So i cant help bu wonder, do people become great because they are influenced by great people? If we model success, do we in turn become successful as well?

So, Vincent Kou TAK WANG just so happen to share my BMT bunk in Tekong during my BMT days and EVERYONE hates him. He is known to talk big, steal your personality tagline, use your jokes so everyone might, i repeat might think he's funny. But the fact is that, no one bothers cuz hes so bloody irritating. When he got silver, he would go around, i got silver, you only passed your IPPT so shut up. (i got silver too by the way) and when he cried during field camp, his buddy took revenge by shouting across the forest to let everyone know hes crying. Classic man, CRY BABY and still talk so much crap when we return to civilisation... i still can recall, "Chad...... could you please help me with my shellscrape when you are done helping norman? (apparently i have a talent for digging holes)

I was really glad my family came for the parade. OK, even my brother cuz he settled the admin side of some stuff which was great. Although sergeants don't commissioned, i still hope my family would be proud of me. DUH... because apparently the garang and super-wayang brother is a commissioned 2nd lieutenant, with all the glamour factors: wear the no.1 white suit, given a super cool sword with his name engraved, people call them SIR, and has this commissioning ball at some chic hotel. 
So im now a bridging section commander as what they all say. Im proud to say i can freaking pilot the M3G (this 4million ambigious machine that you will see in national day parade this year) pretty well ok! But i think there is more shit-work coming through man..... whatever man. i just hope they approve my leave and all.Don't get so worked up~ Its just me

The biscuits cost $1.40, the can salmon spread - $2.15, and the vegetables and eggs - free, cuz i stole from the maid's pile of vege. hahaha.
Total it only cost $3.65 for a snack that keeps you hands busy spreading, and it serves like 5 people. Not only that, it has omega 3 fatty acids, the carrots has vitamin A, brocolli has cancer fighting phytochemicals (only if you dun microwave it), egg whites has no cholesterol. cept for the fact that theres saturated fat in mayonaise, it cheap and healthy and so nice to eat with a glass of juice!! Its a much much alternative to a quick packet of ruffles for your movie time.

Another day
Just thought i blogged alittle before i head to St james with Geraldine etc. Today we went to collect the marathon package. WOO~! I cant wait for that 15km run. I asked the counter and the helper said that there will be 10000 people attending. Seriously, i cannot imagine the scene of 10,000 people all at once at East Coast Park.
Just to let those polymates see: Yiting, whom we kinda never contact already after some commotion over her personality dispute, is working for KFC. omg. is this good or bad? hmmm.... and the other day we saw her with huai wen and yiping. hmmm....hmmm... hahah..

On family, See these days if you wanna talk to your family members, you can actually FACEBOOK! God... next time maybe u can have a meal with your family members like digitally maybe facebook will have like a "Dine with your family" application. Even my old cousin and uncle now has facebook. Ok, totally not related to the picture above. BUT HEY!!! Jermaine i know you are reading this, SEE YOU IN 36 days!!!!! Xiao jiu jiu will bring you to club when you are legal in say 4 years? LOL...
On friends, Oh my god, and i failed my friend's quizzes...God... i feel so bad man.... seriously.. am i such a bad friend? Im just bad with bdays and knowing what you like to eat, thats all. Come on, would you rather have a friend that knows that you likr fried chicken wings or know what to say when you are sad. :) Or maybe i should hang out more and have like heart to heart talks. But i alway have heart to heart talks!!! WHY!!! something wrong with the quizzes... definitely, yes, im pretty sure...

So this week they allow us to book out on 2 nights cuz apparantly we are passing out soon as 3rd sergeants... Its nice in a way, cuz you have no idea how sad staying in is...
So i binged on Macdonald's and pondered about my future which seems so bleak now that im still in army. Ordered a few overseas propectus to see what i can study when i ORD. Its so exciting just thinking about it but at the same time i feel damn scared because i will be all alone in a foreign land and stuff.
Anyway, back to my life now. It makes things worse when you see your peers moving faster than you are, getting their degrees soon and all. I try to make the best out of everything i can in Army but its just hard lar... Since your time is no longer yours, you no longer have your night to think through, to plan, to do your things and all. Life is like stagnant for now.
Even so, im an optimistic person so i try to stuff events to spice up my life. Like going to a fashion show, and im going to a marathon next weekend and all. Hopefully all these effort dont go down to waste. I hope to hope in life again!!!

My sunday was spent 'fashionably' attending the closing of Singapore Fashion Festival hosted by Audi. And just for your info and for the fact that i just found out, äudi is pronounced as öw~~deee.. not like allll...di....
The above was what i wore to the show. Its a jesus monogram printed hoodie which i designed and probably only wore once last year when i was in Japan. DUH!! How can i wear such avant garde stuff on a regular day!! But i guess it was appropriate to wear this to a crazy fashion show such as Vivienne Westwood's.
Ok, anyway, sunday was awefully quiet especially for a closing of such an important event for orchard road. Huimei says its swine flu plus recession. I say its human mentalilty that we should all hide out and wait for everything to be over and back to how 2008 was like. COME ON people!!! wake up your idea! You can choose to hide in your house or you can choose to enjoy the discounts the shops gives during recession. The consumer holds the higher power now. :)
And heres the grand madam vivienne westwood giving her thank you video cuz she cant travel far anymore. She's apparantly not travelling anywhere that is very far now cuz she is worried about leaving her carbon foot prints. Well, she does thinks ahead of us. That might be what we will be thinking in near future.
Advise the grand dame gives to future designers: Be immensely involved in culture and history. Only when you know the past, you are able to design for the future. Culture and art are very important if you are designing because of the depth you gain will be reflected in your designs.
And thats Mr. kentucky look alike, some audi person giving Vivienne westwood an audi fashion festival award, which Vivienne Westwood might have thought it was redundent.. .. well, she already received the highest honour for fashion designers by the Queen of England already!
A high profiled audience was with us that evening ..... :)
Ok, maybe you guys dont know. there Dr. Georgia Lee and thats stylist Karen Ng with the hat.
And thats us. LOL... prolly no one knows us but us. Who cares... we enjoyed ourselves!
The Coke, and i stress that its light cuz fashion is pro-anorexia. The bottle is supposedly designed by Ashley Isham. I just dun get it.. they just printed jewels on it what.... what the hell... the bottle is not even special !!!
The Fashion Show, it was a full collection i think showcased, daywear, casualwear and evening wear; i think there were over 30 pieces in the show.
Photos all thanks to Glenn and his Canon 40D and zoom lens. After the show, instead of strutting out in a line like all the other fashion shows, the models all mad rush out like 'siao char bos', especially with that crazy hair and makeup they had on.

BPCC stands for Bridging Pioneer Commanders Course and that is where i spent my last 2 month on. The future was bleak when they had us sleep only 9hours for the entire 2nd week.But life goes on, so most of us just suck it up and finish it. Im quite glad with the fact that i participated in those strenous tasks. An obstacle will always be an obstacle unless you choose to jump over it.
Remember i did guard duty on labour day? well, it wasnt done for nothing. I was paired up with this man (means not a commander). And he shared with me some pretty interesting stuff as we prowl through the camp. This guy (lets call him matt) actually worked in those sleezy pubs and bar at geylang area before he was enlisted. He told me that its really true that some old guys spend all thier CPFs on these "girls". No wonder the government set this rule to only give a small amount like instalment. Come to think of it, if the government didnt do that, we will be seeing lots of poor old horny elderly people roaming the streets.
So Matt told me how Army has changed his life. He used to be always out, smokes, drink and whatever vices you can think so. But being in camp made him reflect alot on his the past decade he's been living. People might say that our army is a dummy one but ahaving encountered so many bad boys turn good profiles, I questioned, "What is the true reason for young male singaporeans to serve the nation?"

This is a miniature durian i picked up in my camp when heading back home that saturday morning. In case you were wondering why i was in camp for the whole of a public holiday, i was on guard duty to cover some of my 3 course mates who were unwell or rather chose to be unwell.
