And i always think that running is a breeze. Thats because the furthest i ran non stop was only 15km. The mind fucking begins after 10Km and it gets worse as it goes. People slowing down, walking all can affect you to do so as well. All you have to do is to stay away from these people and look at those running then run with them.The first 10km was easy. I just ran like i own it. Then the fatigue sets in, the thirst from dehydration. I almost flew when i saw the 100 plus water points. Then the air gets smelly too hahaha from the sweat from people around you. Many random thoughts came to my mind as i got tired. I swear, its like your mind is trying to pick up something from your memory to stop you from continuing to run.
Thats when i finally understood why some people love to run that much. For me, its because i dont think about anything when i run. Its like my mind gets to just be still for awhile. I guess for others, running long distance challenges yourself to mentally overcome these negative thoughts your mind will try to give you just to make you stop.
Running, its more of a mental challenge than a physical one. I'm definitely trying the full someday. though the half already made me feel like my hips are looser. LOL
